BESCHREIBUNG: Einfach zu nutzende Anleitungen zum Erstellen von
  Webseiten, von den Grundlagen bis zum fortgeschrittenen WebDesign.
  Diese Anleitungen sind im HTML Format geschrieben, also kannst Du
  sie mit Deinem Webbrowser lesen. Falls Du bisher noch keine Webseite
  erstellt hast, wirst Du in den Grundlagen leicht verständlich
  den Einstieg in HTML erlernen. Und wenn Du die Grundlagen beherrschst,
  zeigt Dir die Anleitung für Fortgeschrittene, wie Du zusätzliche 
  Funktionalität in Deine Webseiten einbauen kannst.

DIESE ANLEITUNGEN SIND DONATIONWARE. (Lies donationware.html für Details)
  Du kannst sie nach Belieben nutzen und/oder weitervertreiben gemäss
  der folgenden Richtlinien.
  - Wenn Du sie in eine andere Sprache übersetzen willst, kannst Du es.
  - Wenn Du Lehrer bist und sie zum Unterrichten nutzen willst, kannst
    Du es. Du kannst auch Kopien für Deine Klasse ausdrucken.
  - Wenn Du sie auf einer CD mit anderen Shareware/Freeware Produkten
    vertreiben willst, kannst Du es. (Ich bitte Dich nur, dass Du sie
    nicht einfach verkaufst.)
  - Wenn Du eine Firma hast und Du Deinen Produkten Webtutor als freien
    Bonus beilegen möchtest, kannst Du das.
  - Falls Du WebTutor aus irgendeinem faulen Grunde wortwörtlich 
    kopierst und es Dein eigen nennst, muss ich es meiner Mutti sagen, 
    und dann kriegst Du ganz schön Ärger, Mann!

ZUR VERFÜGUNG STELLEN IM INTERNET
  Wenn Du diese Anleitungen unverändert im Internet zur Verfügung 
  stellen willst, kannst Du das gern tun. Ich habe eine Funktion einge-
  baut, mit der die Anleitung zur Werbung genutzt werden kann. Wenn Du
  also diese Anleitung ins Internet stellst, bitte ich Dich, die Werbung
  zu aktivieren. Das ist sehr einfach... Im Root-Verzeichnis des WebTutor
  gibst es ein Unterverzeichnis mit dem Namen "other". Darin findest Du
  eine Datei mit dem Namen "navtop.js". Öffne sie mit einem Texteditor
  (NICHT MIT FRONTPAGE ODER ÄHNLICHEM) und ändere "runads = 0" zu
  "runads = 1". Das aktiviert den Werbe-Modus (Danke).

  Diese vertreibbare Version hat auch aktive "Witz-Pause"-Links. Wenn
  Du welche der Witze gesehen hast, weisst Du, dass Du auf einer 
  schmutzigen Seite bist. Wenn Du eine "saubere" Seite hast und diese 
  Links lieber nicht haben möchtest, kannst Du das genauso leicht 
  ändern. In der Datei navtop.js kannst Du "jokes_allowed = 1" in 
  "jokes_allowed = 0" ändern.

ANFORDERUNGEN:
1) Windows95/98. Ich habe die 8.3 Dateinamenskonvention verlassen. 
   Win3x Benutzer können Schwierigkeiten haben. Sie sollten jedoch in 
   der Lage sein, Online zugreifen zu können. Ich bin nicht mit 
   anderen Betriebssystemen vertraut, aber ich denke, die Anleitungen 
   sind auch dort noch recht brauchbar.
2) ein graphischer Web-Browser mit aktiviertem Javascript(es sollte 
   aktiviert sein, es sei denn, Du hast es De-aktiviert; -). Am besten 
   Netscape Navigator 4.0 oder besser. MS Internet Explorer 4.0 oder 
   besser tut es auch. Wenn Du etwas anderes als die Grossen Zwei 
   verwendest, sollte es auch OK sein. Sehr alte Browser werden ein 
   wenig stolpern.
3) Ein Texteditor. Notepad reicht dafür erstmal völlig aus.
4) Ein bequemer Stuhl und ein attraktives Mitglied des anderen 
   Geschlechts, das Dir sagt, wie sexy Computerfreaks sind und Dir 
   Deinen steifen Nacken massiert.

ANLEITUNG: Entpacke und starte die index.html. Viel Spass. Es werden 
  keine Dateien kopiert, verschoben, verändert oder anderweitig auf 
  Deinem PC verteilt.
  Um diese Anleitungen zu "deinstallieren", brauchst Du einfach nur 
  den Inhalt des Verzeichnisses WebTutor zu löschen.

EMAIL: Ich erhalte Unmengen an Email mit Fragen zur Hilfe bei diesem 
  oder jenem Problem, aber leider habe ich nicht genug Zeit, sie zu 
  beantworten. Manchmal antworte ich einigen, aber zumindest lese 
  ich sie alle.

VERSION HISTORY:

v3.9 (Feb/00)
- Status changed back to donationware. Call me fickle. Hopefully
  the tutorials are still one of the best things in life :-)
- Broke up the lessons a little more after several requests.
- Added a FAQ or two.
- A few modest additions/alterations.
- Completely revamped navigation. VERY dependant on javascript.
  Actually, if you don't have JS enabled, it will be next to
  impossible to navigate. Also highly suggested is an up-to-date
  browser... Netscape Navigator v4 or greater, Internet Explorer
  v4 or greater.
- There is now only one downloadble version. It contains a switch
  to enable advertising if you wish to re-post it. (instructions
  above)
- Added a bunch of new buttons for linking back. People kept saying
  the old ones were junky. I hope these are a little better.

v3.8 (Nov/99)
- Minor changes, corrections and improvements.
- Created an ad supported version for those that wish to re-post the
  tutorials on the Internet. This second downloadable version can be
  found at: http://members.xoom.com/jbarta/webtutor_repost.zip
  It is exactly the same, except it runs advertisements to help pay
  pay the bills.

v3.7 (Oct/99)
- Status changed back to Freeware. (They say the best things in life
  are free, and I wanted to make sure that the tutorials remained
  one of the best things in life :) My sincerest thanks to those
  that have sent in payments.
- Numerous little additions and changes.
- Moved all the furniture and cleaned out a few virtual cobwebs.
- Added a FAQ or two
- Revamped the basic tutorial's Quick Index
- Revamped the Table Tutor's Quick Index
- Changed the look of a few things
- Added a Suggestion Box
- Added a Mailing List
- Improved Color Picker a little
- Added a few things to the basic tutorial and broke it up into 10
  lessons

v3.6 (July/99)
- Status changed from freeware to donationware.
- Minor corrections

v3.5 (April/99)
- Got "back to basics" all the way around. Long overdue updates.
  Dumped some fluff.
- Removed the various smaller tutorial-ettes. (These will still be
  available and downloadble from the web site.)
- Slightly beefed up the 4 main tutorials.
- Added an updated barebones guide to HTML.
- Sprinkled in a few FAQs.
- Handy Dandy Font Viewer streamlined and doesn't kill IE any more.
- Color Picker slightly improved and IE friendly.
- Form Tutor contains more info regarding the notorious mailto action
  along with links to CGI resources.
- Added Mailto Converter to the distribution because links to mailto
  formatter kept disappearing.
- Dumped the JS menu in favor of a main Table of Contents. (A new,
  improved and reusable SiteMap is in the works... stay tuned.)
- Improved navigation through the pages.
- Dumped the self-extracting exe distribution for a simple zip file.
  Abandoned the idea for a "professional" installation. Why use a
  hammer to kill a fly?
- Numerous additions/corrections,improvements.

What this 3.5 version is NOT:
- It's not a tutorial based on HTML 4.0 (it loosely follows 3.2)
- It doesn't get into Style Sheets
- There's no mention of DHTML (Not specifically at least)
- It does not concentrate on authoring documents that validate
  against any published HTML recommendation.

v3.0 (July/97)
Bundled all four main tutorials into one biggun.
Added Color Picker
Threw in as a bonus a few other tutorial-ettes. (oh boy!)
Included a remote Table of Contents for JavaScript Enabled browsers.
Included a copy of Kevin Werbach's Bare Bones Guide to HTML.

Easy to use web page authoring tutorials covering basic and advanced
web page design. The tutorials are in HTML format so you can go
through them with your web browser. If you've never created a web
page before, the basic tutorial will guide you gently though basics
of HTML. And, if you know the basics, the advanced tutorials
(tables, forms & frames) will show you how to add additional
features to your page.
